Description

Create a Viking dress that is only created from rectangles and triangles as was done during that time. With two cover dress options, two necklines, three closure options and an optional front gore you have many options to choose from to create your perfect look. Decoration suggestions are included with some ideas on how to get different looks. The bonus belt instructions will round off your outfit.

  • 15″ x 39″ of linen or cotton fabric (A linen-polyester mix is recommended for nice draping and authentic look.)
  • Embroidery yarn to decorate neck and/or hem (optional)
  • Ribbon for decorating neck and/or hem, 10″ for neck, 36″ for hem (optional)
  • Closing option: hook and loop tape
    • 6″ of ¼” wide hook and loop tape
  • Closing option: eyelets
    • (14) 1/8” eyelets with washers (washers are recommended)
    • 12″ of double sided iron-on hem tape (3/8” wide)
    • 1/8” ribbon or string (34″ long)
  • Closing option: jump rings
    • (14) 1/8” jump rings (use jewelry glue to glue them closed if needed)
    • 12″ of double sided iron-on hem tape (3/8” wide)
    • 1/8” ribbon or string (34″ long)

  • 9″ x 17½” or 9″ x 27½” of linen or cotton fabric (A linen-polyester mix is recommended for nice draping and authentic look)
    9″ x 17½” needed for Version 1
    9″ x 27½” needed for Version 2
  • Embroidery yarn or ribbon to decorate chest (13″) and/or hem (31″) (optional)
  • Closing option: hook and loop tape
    • 4″ of ¼” wide hook and loop tape
  • Closing option: eyelets
    • (10) 1/8” eyelets with washers (washers are recommended)
    • 10″ of double sided iron-on hem tape (3/8” wide)
    • 1/8” ribbon or string (20″ long)
  • Closing option: jump rings
    • (10) 1/8” jump rings (use jewelry glue to glue them closed if needed)
    • 10″ of double sided iron-on hem tape (3/8” wide)
    • 1/8” ribbon or string (20″ long)

 

Supplies needed for Bonus Belt

  • 5/8” metal ring or 14 gauge wire to make your own
  • 22″ of ½” wide ribbon or vinyl
